National Grammar Day

Yesterday was National Grammar Day. March forth to conquer the villans who butcher the excellence of grammar!

Bahaha! Feisty heist.

Heehee

Correct punctuation is a lifesaver.
Or not so silently, sometimes. :)

Irregardless is not a word?!?!? Ookay then. It's in the dictionary. But then again, a friend once told me that "snuck" is not a word, the correct term is "sneaked." Yet SNUCK is in the dictionary too!

Boredom

Boredom, restlessness, winter blues, cabin fever...whatever you wish to call it...leaves plenty of time for writing...including writing weird, random and silly stuff. Like this:

The next morning I decided to hang up all my dresses in alphabetical order. It was a very long and tedious process, and I quit before I started.

Obviously not my best work.

Anyways, I HAVE been able to get a LOT of good writing done. That's not silly and crazy. So that's one advantage to lots of snow.

Hunger Games American Girl Doll Photoshoot

Prim heading for school

Prim & Buttercup
(a very GIANT Buttercup in comparison to Prim! :D)
Althea is the name I made up for Mrs. Everdeen - it means "healer"
Prim at the apothecary counter - not sure if they
were supposed to have something like this
in the book, or if Mrs. E. was even called
an apothecary, but...creative license!
Feet of the Everdeen sisters - kinda strange, I know!
and yes the "ground" is a sweatshirt - one of the only
gray things I had on hand!

Katniss and Prim - I kind of imagined it being
Prim's first visit to the Hob...she's nervous,
Katniss is reaching back for her hand,
and Katniss has her game bag with her...

The sisters sleeping, with Buttercup watching guard...

Next installment coming later...it will be, Cinna designs a wardrobe for the Girl on Fire's little sister,
post-THG, pre-Catching Fire

Word of the Day

My aunt used this word and I promptly looked it up...

ratiocination - think or argue logically: to think or put forward an argument about something in a strictly logical way (formal)

Merry Christmas!

This beautiful Christmas song is written and performed by the lovely Hayley Westenra, entitled

Happy Birthday.

A Yearning

I want to put power in my words. I want to make my readers cry, make them laugh, make them feel like the characters feel. The music I listen to when I write, which I often try to make match the emotions of the characters, often has such power in the lyrics, in the singer’s voice, and yet…so often I cannot transfer that feeling through my fingers onto the keys and into words. How can I touch my readers? I want to do this so badly…I want to put power in my words. November is National Novel Writing Month. Why is it that this month, of all months, I have been writing hardly anything good?
